Jennie is born in Esse, Finland but has lived in Helsinki over 20 years. She studied singing at Jakobstad Music Institute for 6 years in her teenage years. Jennie is also an very talented dancer. Jazz and soul were her favorite style but she is singing many other genres as well. At a very young age Jennie was already established in the musical theatre scene. She did the lead role "Kim" in Miss Saigon at Helsinki City Theatre 2003-2005 when she was only 20 and have continued with theatre roles the last 20 years. She is doin the role of "Satine" in Moulin Rouge at Helsinki City Theatre in 2024.
Jennie competed in the Finnish national Eurovision Song Contest in 2005 with the song "KISS ME" written by Jens Smedman and Janne Hyöty. She came in first in the semi finals in Turku, and eventually got a third place in the Finals. Jennie did participate again in 2006, the year when each contestant performed two songs of which one was chosen. Jennie performed "Look at your love" written by Janne Hyöty, Jens Smedman and Sofie Björkgren-Näse, and the other song "Take me higher" written by Janne Hyöty, Thomas Karlsson and Jimmy Westerlund. Take me higher came in third in the Finals, which was won by LORDI with song Hard Rock Hallelujah. Lordi went on to win the International Eurovision Song Contest that year.
The album CONNECTED was released on 8th of March, 2005 with a release party at DTM in Helsinki. Most songs were written by Janne Hyöty, Jens Smedman and Sofie Björkgren-Näse. Jennie participated in writing two of the songs herself, "Gonna Be Me" she wrote with Janne Hyöty and "The End", she wrote with Mikael Svarvar and Nicolina Johansson. Mikael Svarvar also arranged the song "The End". The album was mainly produced by Janne Hyöty, except "Take me higher" which was produced by Janne Hyöty and Jimmy Westerlund. The songs Kiss Me, Never Give You Up and Look at Your Love were produced and arranged by Jens Smedman and Janne Hyöty. Album is mixed by Janne Hyöty at Dee Kay Records and Maxe Axelsson at Pama Studios.
