The sisters Ann and Pia Slangar (Finland) started as a rock group called Ann & Pia & The Rockteam, releasing "Love to Rock" in 1991 with cover songs from the 50's and 60's. The recoding included songs like "Great Balls of Fire", "I Love Rock'n Roll, and "Born to Be Wild". The duo released a Christmas album, "Jul med Ann & Pia" in 1992 produced by Christer Rönnholm, and then moved on to a mixture of rock, soul and pop with the album WOMAN INSIDE released in 1995 with the artist name Ann Dee & Pia Kay. The album was produced and arranged by Christer Rönnholm and Marcus Sjöberg.
The EP "Woman Inside of me" was also released in 1996, with the original as well as a Groove version of the song Woman Inside of Me. A new song written by Marcus Sjöberg "The One" was included on the album, as well as a Finnish version of "Mamy Blue". These releases were all under Deci Records, a company owned by Ann. This is also when they decided to start a record label and build a studio and so Dee Kay Records was born in 1998.
